Job Summary

The Senior Roofing Project Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates from plan for roofing projects using traditional, high end roofing materials like tile, slate and metal

This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project scope and costs.

The estimator works closely with clients, project managers, and other internal stakeholders to ensure successful project bidding and execution

Key Responsibilities

Estimate Development:

• Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine the scope of work
• Prepare detailed estimates for roofing projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Identify potential risks, constraints, and opportunities in project proposals

Bid Preparation and Submission:

• Generate comprehensive bid proposals with accurate pricing, timelines, and detailed scope documentation
• Respond to client requests for clarification or additional information during the bid review process

Project Analysis and Collaboration:

• Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates align with project capabilities and resource availability
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid debriefs as needed
• Engage with vendors and suppliers to source accurate material pricing and availability

Client Relations:

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and other key stakeholders
• Provide value engineering recommendations and alternative solutions to meet client budgets

Market Research:

• Stay updated on roofing industry trends, materials, and pricing structures
• Monitor competitive bidding activity and market conditions to identify new opportunities

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in roofing estimating, construction, or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Strong understanding of commercial and residential roofing systems, materials, and installation methods
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., The EDGE)) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
• Ability to conduct on-site evaluations, including climbing ladders and working in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license

Compensation: Base compensation for this position ranges from $110,000-$125,000 per year plus additional performance-based pay.
