Headquartered in Seattle, WA, with operations in Austin, TX, the UK, Europe, and Asia, Taphandles specializes in product design and manufacturing for the beverage industry.

We are seeking an artistic Designer with 1-5 years of experience and a ‘can-do’ attitude to join our award-winning design team where we partner with some of the largest beverage brands in the world designing one-of-a-kind tap handles and other custom draft solutions.

Our design-to-delivery cycle is short, and you will see your work hit the market in a matter of months. A successful candidate will contribute to and assist in bringing beverage brands to life from concept ideation through design sign-off. You will work directly with beverage customers to understand their brands and objectives, sketch product ideas, and refine proposed designs with a collaborative approach until a final custom design is ready to order for manufacturing.

Responsibilities/Opportunities:

• Collaborate directly with customers to understand their design requirements
• Interpret initial ideas and create quick thumbnail sketches for review
• Develop and present design concepts to customers or stakeholders
• Produce high quality hand sketched analog and digital renderings
• Refine design work based on customer feedback
• Develop an understanding of our broad manufacturing capabilities such as: metal machining, wood working, urethane casting, die-casting, injection-molding, electroplating, powder coating, 3D printing, artwork decoration
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest design trends and advancements in design technology

Skills:

• Excellent hand sketching abilities for rapid thumbnail concept generation
• Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
• Proficiency with Adobe Suite
• Working knowledge of Blender, ZBrush or Rhino3D a plus

Requirements:

• A portfolio of work demonstrating strong illustrative design (character design a plus)
• Willingness and interest to collaborate directly with customers
• Ability to deliver high-quality artwork against tight deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Willingness to relocate to Austin (if outside)
