Academy Teacher Job ad:

Houston Bark Park and Daycare is a family owned and operated establishment that has two locations in the Heights and has expanded to the Energy Corridor area. We are looking for amazing new faces to join us in our continued growth with positions available at all three locations. We are looking for an energetic dog lover that wants to spend their day with dogs! Applicants must LOVE dogs, be dependable, and be able to work as a team.

Our Academy teacher will be directly responsible for leading and supervising a range of activities designed to stimulate dogs mentally and physically, including scent games, impulse control games and other enrichment exercises. Other tasks will include positive behavior reinforcement, observation and assessment; maintaining a clean environment and team collaboration. Because we are a small family owned and operated business, we all help where we can! Expect to help with daycare and some front desk duties.

Requirements:

• You MUST LOVE dogs! Working with dogs is not for everyone; it can be exhausting and disgusting. If you really love dogs, though, it can be fulfilling and rewarding!
• Attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to handle all types of dogs are the tools you need.
• Previous experience in a dog daycare, training or similar animal care environment is preferred.
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.
• Ability to engage in physical activities with dogs, including bending, and being on your feet for extended periods.
• Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with team members.
• Weekend and holidays hours are required. We do rotate shifts but are expected to work at least one weekend a month and a couple holidays a year.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Schedule:

Weekday shifts are: 7:00am – 11:30am and 1:00pm – 5:30pm. Full days only. May be asked to help in other areas of the facility.

Weekend shifts vary.
