Description

We are actively seeking a detail-oriented Estate Administration Legal Assistant to join our team Wyalusing and Wysox team. In this role, you will contribute to various tasks and responsibilities to facilitate the smooth operation of the Estate Administration Department. The preferred candidate should possess organizational skills, a willingness to assist others, and excellent communication skills coupled with attention to detail.

Key aspects of this position are outlined under the headings below, with on-the-job training available, and no prior legal background required.

• Work with clients and attorneys to complete the estate administration process, including probating estates, preparing legal documents for attorney review, gathering the decedent’s asset information, preparing the Pennsylvania inheritance tax return, and communicating with the Department of Public Welfare, all following the firm’s procedures.
• Organize, maintain, and search for hard copy and electronic files as requested by attorneys or other staff.
• Perform general operational tasks including but not limited to answering the phone and forwarding messages, copying, scanning, mailings, and postage, assisting drop-in clients, filing paperwork, handling voice mail messages, etc., all according to firm policies and procedures.
• Prepare and proofread correspondence.
• Preparing invoices accurately.
• Maintaining confidentiality of all client and personnel matters pursuant to the firm’s confidentiality policy.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in an administrative or other related position.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Navigate computer programs with ease.
• Display excellent written, problem-solving, and verbal communication skills.
• History of being deadline-driven and extremely organized.
