GENERAL SUMMARY: This position will have a flexible hybrid work schedule. In office presence at all of the retail branches in MD is required.

The Licensed Sales Assistant is responsible for facilitating, developing, and fulfilling the operational, servicing and sales objectives of NIHFCU Wealth Management Program. Increase the penetration rate of the program within the credit union's membership and grow NIHFCU Wealth Management Program's assets under management and gross dealer concessions. The individual will be an NIHFCU employee, registered by TruStage Brokerage Services Inc. and appointed to TruStage Life Insurance Company to perform applicable job duties.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides administrative support for NIHFCU Wealth Management Program. This may include creating memos/correspondence, managing calendars, phone coverage, etc., as well as accurately maintaining member marketing lists.
  • Schedules appointments with members and NIHFCU Wealth Management Program representatives.
  • Assist representative to include the following, but not limited to: Client servicing (address changes, questions, account changes, etc.). Serves as a second source for the existing Financial Advisors' clients. Establish and maintain client files to meet compliance requirements. Review submitted paperwork for accuracy and completeness; follow up with representative, client or home office to obtain necessary documentation. Process paperwork for annuities and life products. Complete mutual fund trade tickets, place trades and monitor for settlement. May engage in unsolicited trades. Run illustrations, assist in fund performance research and prepare client presentations for representatives.
  • Markets the NIHFCU Wealth Management Program to both Credit Union employees and members by assisting with seminar preparation. This may include assembling seminar packets, making room arrangements, keeping lobby materials well supplied and current and coordinating mailings.
  • Grow and the develop new business in the areas of investment and insurance products by working with current and new credit union members in conjunction with the CBSI Financial Advisor in the Program.
  • Meeting on a regular basis, the Licensed Sales Assistance and the Financial Advisor will meet and discuss pipeline opportunities and from time to time, the Financial Advisor will sit in on member/client meetings as required and for all transactions above the established dollar limit for member /client opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and understanding regarding the features and benefits of TruStage related services and Credit Union products and services and effectively cross-sell to enhance the member's relationship with the Credit Union.
  • Review member needs and prepare appropriate financial reviews and/or plans. Match suitable investment and insurance products to the member and help them to buy products appropriate for their needs, handling end-to-end fulfillment.
  • Train and work with staff to generate referrals. Assist with the implementation of a sales plan, an employee referral program, and department promotions as assigned.

TRAVEL:

May travel to on-site locations, branches, and offices as assigned by Management. All employees are required to float as assigned and travel to other branches on a regular basis. Not all locations are accessible by Metro or Shuttle. Reliable transportation for travel is solely the responsibly of the employee.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Requires 5+ years of related business or functional experience (knowledge of investment operations, procedures, transfers and industry terminology) in lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Series 6, 63, and Life and Health Insurance Licenses preferred or willing to obtain
  • Minimum one year of Credit Union and/or Bank experience is required.
  • Excellent oral communication, written and telephone communication skills. Good analytical, and interpersonal skills required.

Salary Range: $28.62-$42.92
