About the Role:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and personalized learning experience for a classroom of elementary students. Your expertise will help foster a supportive environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement IEPs: Create tailored Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that address the unique learning needs of each student, ensuring their academic success.
Specialized Instruction: Provide engaging, specialized instruction to a group of 18 elementary students with diverse learning requirements.
Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with other educators, specialists, and families to monitor and evaluate student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies.
Innovative Teaching Methods: Utilize a variety of teaching methods and educational tools to effectively engage and support students with disabilities.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed, up-to-date records of student performance and progress towards IEP goals.
Professional Development: Participate in meetings, IEP conferences, and professional development sessions to stay current with best practices in special education.
Required Qualifications:
Active Michigan Special Education Certification (SPED) with a specific endorsement in Special Education (general teaching certificates are not eligible).
Proven experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with parents, educators, and specialists.
Expertise in designing flexible and engaging lesson plans tailored to a range of learning abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching in remote or online education settings.
Familiarity with virtual teaching tools and platforms.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently.

Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
