Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners (“AJCP”) is seeking a VP, Corporate Accounting to join the firm’s Corporate accounting team and support its rapid growth across various investment platforms focused on the hospitality, mixed-use, and single-family rental sectors.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The VP, Corporate Accounting will work closely with the CAO and act as a strategic partner to the business for the Corporate entities. The role will interface directly with a variety of groups within AJCP including Portfolio Accounting, Development, Asset Management, Capital Markets, Portfolio Management and Investor Relations. The VP will play a key role in driving alignment between accounting functions and broader business goals, ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and scalable growth.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Oversee all monthly and quarterly accounting, including the monthly / quarterly close process and financial statement preparation for 35+ entities.
Manage the preparation of consolidated financial statements and reporting packages for management and lender reporting.
Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, including the Corporate Controller, Accounting Manager, and external staff accountants. Foster a collaborative environment and build resourcing plans to ensure the team's scalability and alignment with company growth.
Manage the analysis and preparation of allocations of payroll and overheads from the shared service entity to other Corporate entities.
Manage the analysis and preparation of allocations of certain expenses to AJ’s funds, ascertaining that the allocations meet LPA requirements.
Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Management team to lead cash management activities, ensuring efficient liquidity management and alignment with the broader corporate finance strategy.
Manage the Accounts Payable process, including analysis and implementation of a new payment platform in 2025.
Oversee the annual audit and tax reporting processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and proactively identifying potential risks, gaps, or improvements in financial controls.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Strategically manage banking relationships and identify opportunities to optimize cash management, reduce fees, and improve operational efficiency.
Develop a deep understanding of all significant agreements, including but not limited to entity operational agreements and side letters, debt agreements, development management, asset management, hotel management and restaurant management agreements, and applicable leases and insurance contracts.
Lead technical accounting research and analysis to ensure compliance with evolving accounting standards. Set accounting policies and initiatives that align with the company’s goals and industry best practices.
Review current and establish new accounting controls in connection with the Chief Accounting Officer.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITES
Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, automate processes, and implement scalable systems within the Accounting team to support AJCP’s growth trajectory.
Manage/document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation within the Accounting function to support AJCP’s rapid growth and evolving business needs.
WHO YOU ARE
AJCP is seeking a highly-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, but disciplined, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading real estate and development accounting teams for a private equity firm or investment advisor and will know how to drive organization-wide decision making by providing teams with clear, useful, and timely financial reporting. This role also requires the following capabilities:

Strong technical knowledge of partnership and investment company accounting.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Required
B.A. or B.S. degree in accounting.
10+ years of audit/financial reporting experience.
Experience with Corporate accounting, including payroll and allocations.
Preferred
Big 4 public accounting experience.
An advanced degree, such as a Masters of Accountancy / MAC or a Masters of Business Administration / MBA.
CPA or CPA candidate.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensations, or range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Illinois. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of AJCP’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $180,000-$200,000. Other rewards may include annual bonuses. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
