THE OPPORTUNITY

The Company is entering an extraordinary period of growth, to reach one billion dollars revenue over the next decade and is seeking an experienced Vice President of Preconstruction with a demonstrated track record of playing a leadership role in scaling a business while adhering to core principles that serve to set the company apart from competitors.

This role is pivotal to The Company's success across public and private markets, with a strong emphasis on hard bid processes, strategic growth, and fostering excellence within the preconstruction team.

The VP of Preconstruction will report to the CEO, and will lead a team of 7 dynamic professionals in business development, estimating, and capture management. This team will grow significantly over the next five years in Chicago as well as offices across the United States.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • 10-15+ years of lead estimating experience.
  • 5+ years of Federal contracting experience.
  • Proficient in estimating software and advanced Excel usage; self-sufficient in software application.
  • Expertise in commercial building projects, design-bid-build, and design-build delivery systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction means, methods, costs, and engineering principles.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of estimators effectively.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills in high-pressure bidding environments.
  • Ability to travel to site visits and owner meetings nationwide.
  • Pass a background investigation and drug test.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Led bid teams of at least 3 junior estimators.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, MEP Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Experience in a competitive hard bidding environment, particularly with healthcare projects.
  • Knowledge of Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or union-required projects.

TRAVEL & LOCATION

This position will work from the corporate headquarters in Chicago with approximately 10% travel. A relocation package will be offered to qualified candidates not currently within a commutable distance.
