IT Manager

Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM; some nights, weekends, and on-call required.

40 hours

An employee in this position is responsible for supervising the system administrator, software developer, and IT technician, developing the direction of the agency’s IT strategies in: existing and new systems, cybersecurity, business continuity, disaster recovery, and IT project management.

 

Essential Functions:

Under the direction and supervision of the CEO, the duties and responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

1. Supervise daily operations of network and server infrastructure.
2. Align IT infrastructure with current and future agency requirements and goals.
3. Evaluate risk, adopt a cybersecurity framework, and implement processes across the agency network and devices.
4. Evaluate risk and develop a robust network recovery and backup processes to mitigate cybersecurity threats, minimize business disruptions from disasters.
5. Ensure that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes, and regulations, including any CMMC requirements.
6. Test, troubleshoot and adjust information systems to operate securely.
7. Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services.
8. Develop strategy to move from legacy software and hardware platforms to new systems.
9. Develop strategy for IT systems, cybersecurity, business continuity, disaster recovery.
10. Perform vendor management functions including cost analysis, comparison of services, service level agreements, setting up quotes, contracts, completing purchase orders, and finalizing purchases.
11. Monitor hardware and software licensing cycles and initiate purchase requisitions when necessary.
12. Supervisor all IT staff.
13. Attend Division meetings and staff training as required.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a System Administrator Position.
2. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
3. Must complete a successful background check.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Strong critical thinking skills.
2. Knowledge of business IT systems, including software, hardware, operating systems as they pertain to business operations and cybersecurity fundamentals.
   Ability to work with a variety of equipment and software packages.
3. Ability to work with, teach, and assist non-computer professionals in all levels of agency.
4. Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team.
5. Ability to meet project deadlines.
6. Ability to supervise other IT related staff to include system administrator, software developer, and IT technician.
7. Ability to understand the IT needs of a growing non-profit agency that continues to utilize technology and information systems in new ways.
8. Ability to recommend, develop, and  implement IT policies, cybersecurity policies, and software packages and training to keep agency staff trained on new software and prepared for future cybersecurity threats.
9. Ability to effectively communicate though written and oral communications regularly.
10. Knowledge of computer server hardware, network equipment, and desktop/laptop hardware.
11. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Server, Ubuntu, SQL Server, Active Directory, File servers, and related technologies.
12. Experience with VMWare ESXi or similar virtualization platform and Veeam Backup software not required but highly valued.
13. Knowledge of Microsoft Applications i.e. Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
